The horseshoe-shaped frame mounts to the front face of the door the same way a J-strap does, and the rollers ride along the same 1-1/2 in flat steel track.

The profile is the other difference. The horseshoe is a larger, more prominent piece of hardware above the door, which suits farmhouse, rustic, and western-leaning installs where the hardware is meant to be seen. The J-strap is the same front-face mounting in a slimmer curved profile at 200 lbs.
